Dynamic Routing Protocol
There are two types of Routing Protocol
1.Link State Routing Protocol
Examples of link-state routing protocols include Open
Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Intermediate System to Intermediate System
(IS-IS). The link-state protocol is performed by every switching node in the
network (i.e., nodes that are prepared to forward packets; in the Internet,
these are called routers).
2.Distance Vector Routing Protocol
There are four distance vector IPv4 IGPs: RIPv1: First
generation legacy protocol. RIPv2: Simple distance vector routing protocol.
IGRP: First generation Cisco proprietary protocol (obsolete and replaced by
EIGRP)
Full meaning:
IGRP (Interior Getaway Routing)
EIGRP(Enhance Getaway Routing)
RIP(Router Information Protocol)
OSPF(Open Shortest Path Fast)
IS-IS(Intermediate Service to Intermediate Service)
BGP(Border Gateway Protocol)
